Origin property

All objects have an origin property, which you can think of as the anchor point of the object. The origin's relative position within or along the edge of the object's bounding box defines its dynamic directionality—that is, the direction in which the object will grow or shrink when its size is changed.

The origin's position is usually one of the following nine possibilities:

Notice that the Origin does not control the relative alignment of the lines of text, but only the relative position of the entire text block within the object's bounding box. To get center or right-aligned text, you need to work with the Text Align property as well.
